As Vietnam emerges as a global economic powerhouse, its energy needs are exploding. Chan May is responding to this pivotal demand through the creation of a truly safe, secure and scalable source of clean energy.

With an eye towards supporting Resolution No. 55-NQ, Chan May is working hand-in-hand with the Vietnamese government and the International Finance Corporation (‘IFC’) to develop a 4,000MW integrated liquefied natural gas (LNG)-to-power facility, to be located in Thua Thien Hue province, in Central Vietnam, with total investment estimated at US$6 billion.

Tran Si Chuong

CO-FOUNDER / CHAIRMAN

Mr. Tran has over 40 years experience across the infrastructure value chain, including engineering (power systems and petroleum), economic development, industry advisory and business startups. He is an independent investor and corporate advisor in and for companies in construction and human capital development.

Chuong has a degree in engineering from U.C. Berkeley School of Engineering, and advanced degrees from London School of Economics and Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies.

John Rockhold

CO-FOUNDER / VICE CHAIRMAN

Mr. Rockhold has worked and lived in Vietnam for almost 3 decades. His intimate understanding of Vietnamese processes and culture has allowed him to successfully deliver and manage over 30 major sustainable infrastructure projects. John is the founder and Chairman of the Vietnamese Business Forum’s Power and Energy Working Group, and the author of its Made in Vietnam Energy Plan, which has played a pivotal role in the the introduction of LNG as a source of sustainable energy.

John holds a BS in Engineering and Applied Science from California State University, San Diego and attended Officer Candidate School in Rhode Island. He is a licensed engineer in the state of California.

Nguyen Van Quy Ngoc

CO-FOUNDER / VICE CHAIRMAN

Mr. Nguyen has over 25 years experience in the construction and energy space throughout South East Asia. Along with overseeing the construction of transmission lines and medium-voltage lines in Laos for JSC, Ngoc has developed and owned 3 solar projects in Vietnam. Ngoc is a highly regarded entrepreneur in Vietnam, Laos and Thailand and is a member of SME Association of Thailand and a member of Asia Trade Development, AEC

Tran Thi Huong Ha

CO-FOUNDER / TREASURER

As an experienced investor and developer of 3 solar projects in central Vietnam, Ms. Tran has almost unparalleled experience in energy project origination and completion at the local and national government level. Ha has over two decades experience as the chief accountant of VNPT Group and is a graduate of the University of Post and Telecommunications.

Nguyen Trong Hung

INDEPENDENT MEMBER

Mr. Nguyen has over 25 years of project development and strategic oversight in the construction, industrial production, media and infrastructure space. This has included working closely with the leaders of provincial governments in developing their strategic socio-economic planning.

Hung has certifications in ISO, LEED, PE, and earned an MBA on scholarship between Vietnam’s Ministry of Education and the Paris Chamber of Commerce. Hung also has a B.Sc in structural engineering from HCMC University of Technology.
